Late August and September
After summer adventures all around SouthEast Asia…it was a bit hard to get back to the reality of school and work…but alas…
Bee joined Jay at Hogwartz – and the sorting hat even put them in the same house (actually see pics in Summer Fun blog- we did actually get to visit a not-fully-licenses Harry Potter Cafe)..of course with the new semester came new adventures…Bee taking up cricket and trying his best to keep up with the Brits in “football.” Jay took up drama as Wolf # 78 in the Wolves of Whillpghby Chase (in all truth he worked very hard to help put on a great production.) Jay also joined the Math Club and the Robotics team, while Bee had chess club and a basketball clinic. Both boys joined scouts and we even got piano and tennis lessons going !
Jay (and Dad) had their 1st camping adventure in Singapore at an awesome little island called Pulau Ubin…pretty awesome to be camping with monkeys and wild boar! Jay was the grubmaster for his patrol and cooked a great pasta dish, awesome tacos and pancakes.
On a crazy birthday weekend, Mom and the boys had a great walk around Marina Bay and then got to watch the Formula One Race come through Singapore- 1st the practice from a 3rd story hawker center and then the actual race 22 stories high from a Singapore Skyscraper! A visit to the bird park, the air force museum and summiting Singapore’s highest natural summit (which is not nearly as impressive as it sounds- as at 163 m it is much lower than Singapore’s highest buildings)..rounded out a quite busy September…
