Our first week in Singapore

Our first week was a great one. Here’s what happened:

monday

On Monday, we had to open a new bank account- so while we waited for Mon and Dad we tried to play on a VR headset.  Unfortunately it was about retirement planning so it wasn’t so exciting. They had a robot but it was a video teller, so again not so exciting. Next though, Mom had to get a new phone and buy some electronics- and both stores had phones that Jay and I could play on!   At lunch, we went to our 1st Hawker Center- which is a giant food court inside a shopping mall where they have basically every type of Asian food on planet earth.  Guess what I got – dumpling soup (I thought I was getting soup dumplings- oh well it was still delicious). Later in the day we got our photos and fingerprints taken to become official residents of Singapore!  After that we took a nice walk along the river and stopped for a soda. All in all a fun day even while we got lots of things done!

tuesday

On Tuesday we went to Universal Singapore!  There were 7 lands: Madagascar, Far Far Way, The Lost World, Ancient Egypt, Sci Fi City, New York City and Hollywood.  First we went on one ride in Madagascar, but we went on 4 in Far Far Away- including two cool roller coasters. We ate lunch at a place called Goldilocks that served fried chicken.  After that we went to the Lost World- which was all Jurassic Park theme- they even let you meet a Raptor that looked real! Mom and I went on the Dumbo on Universal Singapore- flying pterodactyls while Jay and Dad went on a hanging roller coaster.  Then we went to a cool show called WaterWorld. I sat in the front row of the splash zone and got soaked during the show! Next we got wet again, riding the Jurassic Park raft ride. Then onto Ancient Egypt, where we road the Tomorrowland Speedway of Universal Singapore.  Then while Mom and Jay rode Revenge of the Mummy, Dad and I went on spinning ride and then an Elmo ride where he recovers the missing pasta from outer space (crazy!). Then Dad, Jay and I went on a crazy Transformers ride in Sci fi City. Then we learned how special effects work in the Lights, Camera Action show.  Finally while Jay and Dad did one more coaster, Mom and I saw an Elmo TV show and rode the crazy Elmo ride again. Then we all rode the Elmo ride AGAIN! All in all we had a blast exploring Universal Singapore!

friday

Friday was a day to mostly set the boys up for their new schools- tours, uniforms and school supplies- but we did sneak in an awesome Thai lunch, where we tried super spicy egg rolls and classics like Pad Thai, Pad See Yew and Pineapple Fried Rice.
